MEERSCHAUM CALABASH GOURD

A classic real gourd calabash "Sherlock Holmes" pipe with a block meerschaum bowl.
Although this pipe doesn't have a maker's mark, it is believed to be one manufactured by Parker in Belgium.
By the 1950’s Parker had become merged with Hardcastle and Parker became a stand alone brand. Over the year’s production has moved form England to various European locations and now resides in Italy.
Unlike many gourd calabash pipes the Parker doesn't appear to have a removable meerschaum bowl insert. It appears to be fixed in place, and I am not going to try to force it off!
This pipe is a particulary clean example, and looks like it has hardly been used.
