And now for something completely different!
A French made briar with a very unusual "camo" pattern printed surface to the bowl. When this pipe arrived it was well and truly used with a lot of carbon cake build up inside the bowl, and yet the printed surface of the bowl was pristine. Therefore the finish obviously stands up very well to heat and use.
The pipe is branded "Fancy" beneath which is "Bruyeure". I have seen a few of these on the web occasionally, and second hand ones are usually listed for sale at about £75. They don't appear to be in current production.
I have reamed the bowl, and polished the stem, and cleaned out all of the tar inside the airways (there was a lot!), and it is now in great pristine condition to be used again.
